This is already one of the best AMA’s of all time. Two comments in and someone is confessing to reading TFiOS while having sex because they couldn’t put it down.
I love this community.
Lately I haven’t been able to stop thinking about how great this community is. I’m always thinking about it, but I have been a lot these past weeks. About 3 years ago, I’ll admit it, my life was unexciting. Not bad, but not great either. I was basically doing all the same things over and over, like I was living the same day every day, but once I actually found Nerdfighteria, and this is going to sound really cheesy, but once I had become part of this spectacular community of people, I felt like my life had some sort of meaning to it. Mostly because John and Hank are so inspirational and motivating, but also because I’ve met so many awesome people that actually talk to me when they get a chance and they understand what I’m saying and everything. They’re just the greatest!!! Anyway, I think Nerdfighteria has taught me to be more outgoing, which sounds strange, but seriously, I don’t know… watching John and Hank’s videos make me want to be sillier and more outspoken about the things that I like, which is a great thing because that’s helped me to make good friends in real life, as well as online. There’s so much more I could say, but it’s really hard for me to get my feelings out into words right now.
The reason why I’ve been thinking about this must be because right now, at this moment, I feel the happiest. The happiest I have ever been in my whole life.
Emphasis mine. I can’t remember where I read it, but someone on Tumblr wrote that their personal motto is “Make your own fun”. I think between that and being more silly and outspoken about the things you like, you’d be surprised just how easy it is to have a positive impact on your community, and in turn, your own life.
